The Way of Water

by Caridad Svich

Directed by Robert Walsh

with Brandeis Theatre Company

Performed at Brandeis Spingold in The Laurie

March 2015

For my Theater Arts thesis - I had the opportunity to work with BTC's Artistic Director and Boston's Veteran Actor Robert Walsh. The inspiration for the costumes came after I saw the model for the set designed by my amazing classmate JP Pizzuti. The play observes the life of 2 couples in the aftermath of the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Our costume journey supports the struggle and deterioration they face with the environment. As the play progresses, the costumes become more distressed and similarly oily, dirty and earthy as the set.

Thank you Cameron Anderson and Mary Hurd for your mentorship and guidance to get me thru my thesis!

Brandeis also invited the playwright Caridad Svich to come watch our production. I had the pleasure of sitting next to her during our student group dinner.
